Chicago Field Trips

A Chicago field trip your students will actually remember.

We host K-12 school groups of up to 100 on guided, 3-hour tours of iconic Chicago pizzerias aboard luxury coach buses. Pizza is history, geography, and small-business storytelling, all on one plate.

A field trip shouldn't feel like a chore for teachers or students.

You don't want to spend the day:

  • Wrangling 60 students through a museum exhibit they're not engaged with.
  • Coordinating lunch arrangements that fall apart when the bus is late.
  • Filling out a permission slip for an experience kids forget by Monday.

A Chicago day trip that runs itself.

We handle the bus, the food, the seating, and the storytelling. You handle the chaperones. Everyone learns something they'll actually talk about at dinner.

01

Your bus brings the class to us.

Most schools use the bus they already have on contract. We meet you at the first pizzeria at the time you choose. No coach fee tacked onto the trip.

02

Three iconic pizzerias.

Food is preordered and waiting when you arrive. Owners share their family story and the neighborhood history.

03

Your bus takes them back to school.

When the last stop wraps, the class boards the same bus and heads back. Students leave with a real story about Chicago, immigration, and small business. Not a worksheet.

Chicago history, told through pizza.

From 1943 deep dish at Pizzeria Uno to thin-crust tavern style cut into squares, Chicago's pizza is a window into the city's immigrant neighborhoods, family-run small businesses, and the grit it takes to last a generation. Students leave with a story they retell at home.

  • All food preordered and reserved at each stop.
  • Dietary restrictions handled: gluten-free, vegetarian, allergies.
  • Chaperones included in the headcount and the seating plan.
  • Bring your own bus and skip the coach fee. If you need one arranged, we can quote that too.
  • Curriculum tie-ins: Chicago history, immigration, small business, food science.

The best field trips connect students to the city they live in.

I started Chicago Pizza Tours because I wanted to show people parts of this city most locals never see. School groups are some of our favorite tours to run. Students get to meet the owners, hear the stories, and taste the difference between three completely different styles of Chicago pizza, all in one afternoon.

By the time the bus pulls back up at school, the kids are arguing about which one was their favorite. That's the goal.
